Welcome to Picture Nation. We have a growing image bank of wonderful pictures that cover many class subjects in the National Curriculum.

Schools can use Picture Nation photos for use in the classroom for:

Saving you time

Pictures are uploaded by amateur and professional photographers to Picture Nation for legitimate licensed sale. Every picture is checked by Picture Nation for technical quality, subject use and copyright, offering you reassurance that the photo is legally available to you. We check all the accompanying text with a photo, for accuracy and spellings, saving you time with lesson preparation.

Don't breach copyright

Are you one of the schools who think they get their pictures from 'Google Images'? Oops. Google Images is just a search facility for reference. Pinch images from Google and you're pinching somebody's Intellectual Property.You could end up wth a bill for a lot of money. Technology is now available and being used to trawl the net for coded images that have been downloaded and not paid for. We're not scaremongering. It's fact, and litigation is on the increase. All images are available in web ready format ( for use on computers/whiteboards/presentations and print for teaching purposes) in a choice of 3 subscription options meaning you can get pictures for teaching from as little as 28p each - pay once and use as many times as you like.

There are also up to two print format sizes avaialbale for single purchases for posters, professional quality printing, etc.

All the images available are sold royalty-free – meaning you pay for them once and for educational and teaching purposes you can use them as many times as you like. Just add them to your school/college's image bank and use them term after term.

You can buy either online with a purchase/credit card and start downloading straightaway, or you can choose our invoice option. If you choose the invoice option you just need to let us know by selecting the credit option when you go to Buy Subscription. We'll then give you a quick call to say 'hi' and verify your application and then you can start downloading and process the invoice we'll send you.

Just download and add to your school image library. You can login and download from anywhere – it doesn't have to be from a school computer.

New images are added to the Picture Nation library every day so you can benefit from a growing stock of quality, legally acquired pictures to assist you with lessons on the interactive whiteboards, on computers and print outs.

Interactive whiteboards

We are accredited partners with Promethean - global distributors of interactive whiteboards. The Picture Nation website has undergone rigorous tests in order to win the Promethean Activboard Friendly kitemark. We can be used with any whiteboard that uses PCs or Macs.

Every image available on Picture Nation can be used by a school for teaching purposes.

Search for 'animals'.

Images available include pets, wildlife, British and worldwide creatures, farm animals, animals in zoos, trained animals, caged animals, endangered animals, working animals.

Images available include Kentish Oast houses, Birmingham's Selfridges building, containers used as houses, classic cathedrals, St William's College in York, Norfolk windmills, London Assembly Building, Clifton Suspension bridge, Ironbridge, Cardiff Millennium Centre.

Environment

Search for 'environment'.

Images available are many - this is a large category and covers many sub categories. Images include UK and worldwide environmental scenes.

Food

Search for 'food' or 'fruit' or 'vegetable' or 'meat' or 'pasta' or 'fish'.

Images available are many – so you can either do a wider search for food in general or be specific about the types of food you want to find pictures of. These images include people buying and eating food.

Global warming

Search for 'global warming'.

Images available include pollution, chimneys, metal mountains, recycling, factories, flooding, electricity pylons, shores, skies, weather, watering the lawn, putting petrol in a car, power button on a device, jet liner in the sky, hosepipe ban sign.

Government

Search for 'government' and 'law'.

Images available include Houses of Parliament, Brussels EU flag, polling station signs outside a school, demonstrations, council buildings.

India

Search for 'india'.
