Uploading your images
Before you upload any images to picturenation you must read these guidelines or your images could be rejected.
- You must read the Sellers' Terms and Conditions for licensing your images for sale.
- You should be familiar with and adhere to those terms before you upload images for consideration. If you do not, your images will be rejected.
- picturenation automatically sizes your images to the appropriate size category for sale.
- You need to send us - RGB JPegs only. All formats are accepted, including Adobe RGB and sRGB.
- You need to add text to your images once you have uploaded them. Guidelines are provided in your Sellers' Pack. Once your image and text are saved, your image is in the awaiting approval queue, and you will receive an email confirming whether your picture has been accepted or declined.
- We recommend you only upload images to picturenation if you have broadband.
- If you use a MAC you need to use the Firefox browser.
- You will see when you go to Upload that you can send up to 5 images at a time, and with a combined file size of 50Mb.
- Scanned images must be scanned to the highest quality and be free of dust marks and debris.
- At this time picturenation does not sharpen images - if you wish to sharpen images before uploading then you can do so.
- Do not put commercial URLs (your photography website link) or any commercial information in the metadata of your uploaded image. picturenation removes any URLs embedded in the image and will remove any other commercial information in the metadata. By all means add picture details to the metadata embedded within your photograph.
- We prefer images taken with a camera with a resolution of at least 5 million pixels, but could accept saleable images taken with a camera of a lower resolution.
- You do not need to send us a release form for any relevant picture until we inform you that that picture has been cleared for use. We will inform you of this by email.
- Sometimes we will accept an image as web res only if we think there could be an issue with it for print res. Any image we question for print res is often subject to a test colour print. It is picturenation's decision whether or not to accept images in all resolutions.
It is picturenation's prerogative to accept or decline images, and when uploading images to picturenation, it is on the understanding that you accept this, and have read all the relevant terms and guidelines relating to Sellers on picturenation.
Accepted or rejected
Your photographs will not go live on the picturenation site until they have been checked and cleared by our team. Images are generally processed in the order that they came in, but we do give priority to seasonal, topical images or images that are being requested by potential buyers.
You do not need to contact us to check when your images go live. You will be informed by e-mail when each image has been processed. We cannot enter into personal correspondence about image approvals.
Follow the guidelines - if you don't it slows down the approval process whilst we make corrections. To help speed up the approval process you should make sure your text is accurate.
